Johnson Strips Ukraine Aid
Speaker Johnson just announced that he will try to preempt the Senate's Ukraine/Israel/Taiwan/Border Supplemental by calling a vote for an Israel-only Supplemental: https://punchbowl.news/letter-2/
All to avoid passing Ukraine aid and border reform.
An Israel-only Supplemental will be dead on arrival in the Senate. Johnson's plan is purely political; he wants to push through an Israel-only aid Supplemental so that he can then say that he tried, but it's the Senate that is refusing to work with the House.
Please start contacting your representatives in Congress and insisting that this is unacceptable, especially if you live in Republican states:

Feel free to improvise and don't be nervous. Calling may seem stressful at first, but it's really easy.
You can call every day. Calling regularly is very effective because it tells the representative that you're organized and dedicated. Aides tally all calls, but they take particular note of people who call regularly. The biggest threat to a representative during elections are enthusiastic constituents with a grudge. Your voice matters.

This is completely unacceptable and this political charade has gone on long enough. Please ensure that the only supplemental which is given serious consideration is one that includes aid to Ukraine, and reach out to your colleagues to ensure their opposition to Johnson's continuous politicization of this issue. Supporting Ukraine is essential to American interests. Four months have now gone by without the passing of a Ukraine aid supplemental: this is costing Ukrainian lives as they are forced to ration ammo. America needs to stand with its allies against and pass the Supplemental.
